Welcome to the official site of DUP

Welcome to the official site of International Society Daughters of Utah Pioneers (ISDUP, DUP). ISDUP was organized solely for historical, educational, and public purposes and is completely non-political and non-sectarian. We are dedicated to honoring the names and achievements of the men, women, and children who founded Utah. We seek to encompass a broad scope of services, ranging from the preservation of historic landmarks to the education of thousands of school children and adults about their pioneer forebears. For more information about DUP, click here. For more information about the history of the organization, click here.

Pioneer Memorial Museum Welcomes Key to Nauvoo Temple

On Monday, May 7, Mt. Nebo DUP Camp came to the Pioneer Memorial Museum with a special gift. Many years ago, they were given one of the original keys to the Nauvoo Temple by Ionia Young Kay. She had found it in a house belonging to Henry I. Young, who was keeper of the keys at the Nauvoo Temple. This key will now be displayed permanently at the Pioneer Memorial Museum, and can be seen on the first floor case 52. We are so grateful to be able to share this treasure from the past with our visitors!

DAYS of 47 ROYALTY ANNOUNCED FOR 2012

Three new royalty members were crowned Saturday evening, April 14th, at the Little Theater in the LDS  Conference Center. Excitement and suspense filled the air as the following ladies stepped center stage to receive crowns and roses.

Queen is Hannah Marie Blackburn of Centerville, 1st Attendant Christina Keller of Orem and 2nd Attendant Stephanie Romney of West Bountiful. The three royalty were selected by a  panel of judges based on talks centered on this year's Days of '47 theme, "Pioneers--Building on the Dream."  Their goals, accomplishments, poise, leadership, answers to judges' questions, and family genealogy with pioneers who came to the Salt Lake Valley between 1847 and 1869 were other qualifications.

As they travel and speak this summer, our Royalty will be an example to all young women who hear their message.  They will represent The Days of '47 and International Society Daughters of Utah Pioneers well.

The Royalty Pageant is the first of many events sponsored by The Days of '47, and is produced by International Society Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
