This is Still the Place: Utah's 1897 Pioneer Jubilee

Originally known as The City of Corrine, this boat would later becalled General Garfield, after the President. The vessel was built from California redwood, patterned after Mississippi stern wheel boats, and was initially designed to haul freight. After the railroad came to Utah in 1869, the Garfield carried passengers along the southeastern shores of the lake.
